Tennessee principal kicks media out of political meeting on school grounds

Rutherford County School Board Chairman Wayne Blair held a meeting Wednesday at a public school to mobilize teachers against school vouchers, despite warnings he was breaking Tennessee law by holding a political event on school property.

Tennessee Watchdog checked in with the main front office at the Blackman High School auditorium in Murfreesboro and clearly identified itself as a news agency that was interested in covering the meeting.

School personnel directed Tennessee Watchdog to the main auditorium.

Five minutes before the meeting was scheduled to begin, a woman later identified as Blackman High School Principal Leisa Justus ordered Tennessee Watchdog to leave school grounds.
